We supported a joint statement from the Coalition for Fair Fisheries Arrangements (CFFA) to the FAO Subcommittee on Trade asking that they stop encouraging the mass production of aquatic animals and adopt a coherent approach that considers animal welfare, the environment, and local communities.
Animal Welfare was notably absent from Ursula Von Der Leyen’s SOTEU, says the Brussels Times, quoting our Legislative Advocacy Manager Gabriel Kubikova: “The long overdue modernization of standards on the treatment of animals should be championed by all political actors.”
